Homemade Strawberry and Blueberry jam with Chia Seeds

Making your own berry jam is a great way to incorporate these nutrient-packed superfoods into your diet without the huge amount of sugar found in store-bought jams. Most of it is from high fructose corn syrup, along with standard corn syrup and then run-of-the-mill sugar. Along with some pectin to thicken it up.

This jam on the other hand is nutrient-dense and fiber-rich with chia seeds which naturally thicken the jam up and the only sweetener used is just raw, organic honey.

You can spread jam on sourdough, homemade crepe or even pancakes!

Makes 1 1/2 cups of jam


500g Organic Strawberries

500g Organic Blueberries

2 tbspn Organic Raw Honey

2 tbspn Chia Seeds

1 tspn Fresh lemon juice

2 cups of water



Boil the berries with 2 cups of water and honey until reduced slightly. Add more water as needed, depending on desired consistency.

Use a spoon to mash the fruits up.

Let it cool until it's lukewarm.

Pour Chia Seeds into mixture and stir well. Add more until desired consistency is reached.

Carefully pour the mixture into a glass jar and leave it in the fridge overnight.
