Eco-friendly Menstrual Cup
This cup is aptly named Freedom Cup. While it takes a while to get used to, it liberates you from uncomfortable, bulky pads and drying tampons.
It is recommended you insert in the morning in the shower, go about your day, and remove, clean, and reinsert at night in the shower, before bedtime. An average women expels about 60-70ml of fluid over the course of her period, and the Freedom Cup holds about 18ml each. So if you are changing it out every 10-12 hours, it should not overflow. But different women have different cycles so based on your first two periods you will learn how often you need to change it out to prevent overflow.
The Freedom Cup can last up to 15 years with proper care and storage
Step 4 get into a comfortable position. You can be squatting, or standing with one leg propped up on a closed toilet bowl.
Step 5 relax your vaginal muscles.
Step 6 fold the Freedom Cup to decrease its surface area for easy insertion. We recommend the ‘Shell’ fold.
Step 7 slide it in as far as it can go before your hands can no longer reach it. You‘ll find the correct position in the vagina by practicing and getting to know your own anatomy.
Step 8 run your index finger around the bottom of the cup to make sure it has fully opened up. In order to avoid leaks, make sure that the cup has opened properly by rotating the cup after insertion.
Step 9 Get on with your day like a superstar.
Step 3 squeeze your abdominal/pelvic floor muscles. The cup should come back down to the opening of the vagina.
Step 4 grab hold of the bottom of the cup and squeeze to release the vacuum seal.
Step 5 once the seal is broken, pull out, and empty into a toilet bowl or shower drain.
Step 6 wash cup with water. Make sure the small holes at the top and all ridges are clean. When water is not available it’s okay to wipe the cup with toilet paper and give it a proper wash the next time.
Step 7 fold and re-insert. Carry on your day like a superstar.
Sterilizing is not necessary every time you empty the cup out. But you are advised to sterilize the cup before and after your period.
Simply, get a small porcelain bowl, place your Freedom Cup inside, and pour hot water over.
Remove, air dry, then store in cotton bag provided.
Keep the Freedom Cup in your cotton bag. Place it in your handbag, or somewhere cool, and dry.
*If the cup suddenly changes color, becomes slimy, or alters in appearance, stop all use immediately.
